Dulichium arundinaceum, Three way sedge, is one of the easier to identify sedges. Looking straight down on the plant, leaves growing in ranks of three are visible. The upright stems growing 2-3' tall are quite at home in moist areas including swamps, pond edges, standing water, and creeksides. Water gardens seem to come alive when the narrow leaves of Three way sedge are used in contrast with broader leaf plants.
