Doellingeria umbellata, also known as Parasol whitetop, blooms mid-July through October with an umbel of bright white flowers. They typically tower at about 5' tall, with beautiful lightly textured green foliage. Parasol whitetop is a rhizomatous perennial, that enjoys wet or moist soils with full to partial sun. Wet meadows would be an ideal location for Doellingeria umbellata, with ample room to spread. Blooming from July through October, Doellingeria umbellata attracts many late season pollinators, as well as other wildlife who like to browse the foliage. Thus, it's good to keep this plant protected until it is established.
