Scirpus cyperinus, Woolgrass, gets its name from its inflorescence which stands at 4-5’and blooms from late July to early September. Scirpus cyperinus is a clump forming fine textured broad leaf rush that is common in wet meadows, on pond banks, and along slow moving water ways. A great plant for soil stabilization and provides good bird cover.
