Lobelia siphilitica, Great blue lobelia, is an herbaceous perennial that grows in nice clumps from 1-3' tall. The upright stems of Great blue lobelia produce a striking blue flower head which creates a wonderful flush of color along the edge of a pond, stream bank, moist meadow or boggy area. Slightly more drought tolerant than Lobelia cardinalis and a must have for rain gardens. Excellent companion for Eryngium aquaticum (Marsh rattlesnake-master), Chelone glabra (Turtlehead), and Lobelia cardinalis (Cardinal flower).
